Episode 34: OMF Emergencies Part 3

In today’s episode:

A new opening! A special thanks to Tanya Rich for the new opening of the show.

Video is coming to Emergency Nursing Today! I’m working on adding video content to the site for more in-depth coverage of specific items. Things like Le Fort fractures, EKG waveform recognition, etc. This will give you the benefit of greater understanding of the subject and allow you to choose just what you want to learn more about. Look for it to debut by the first of the year!

I’m also looking into the possibility of being able to give CEU credit to pre-hospital listeners too. This is something that may take some time, but I’ll let you know when it becomes available.

In the news today:

From Medical News Today: low dose aspirin should not be used on those patients who do not have cardiovascular problems.

From Medline Plus: Medical scan radiation is on the rise…….and fast!

From Emergency Medicine News: Reasoning behind not performing gastric lavage on OD patients.

From Medline Plus: A link between Vitamin D and heart attacks and strokes

From Medpage Today: A potential link between UTI treatment and birth defects.

And finally, here’s the podcast! Enjoy!
